OPI Tease-y Does It

It's been awhile, no? The wedding was great, my cousin gave me a sore arm from carrying her around, but it was worth it (:

Anyway my weekend was quite boring. Tonight will not be boring! Because the El Clasico match will be on! It'll be 4am where I am but that's one perk of being on holiday - you get to stay up as late as you want. Needless to say, I will be either staying up or waking up to watch this match. Who would miss a match between Barca & Real Madrid?

Tease-y Does It is from the Burlesque collection. It's sheer on the first coat, but at 2-3 coats, it'll be good to go. It's a dark brown purple-y base (my friend thought it was purple) with pink/golden shimmer. I can't decide what color the shimmer is, but according to Scrangie, it's a duochrome-y shimmer, and I can't disagree. I absolutely love this one. It's very shimmery, these pictures don't do it justice at all.

Edit: I completely forgot to tell you that I did 3 coats, with top coat. Also, these wore very well. I put this on on Monday and it lasted all the way to Friday with minimal tip wear. It would probably have lasted a week, maybe more. I just decided I wanted a different colour on.

I rarely ask my mom to get an OPI unless I really really love it. My first was Russian Navy, then Merry Midnight and Mad As A Hatter and now these from the Burlesque collection. It's worth every overpriced dollar we paid.

The weather has been terrible. I was fortunate enough to get a good sun shot. The rest are all taken under my Ikea lamp. Also, I changed the photos' file type from .png to .jpg and the file size is a LOT smaller, whereas the quality of the photo is practically unchanged. Why didn't I do this earlier?

I couldn't resist taking a blurry shot. (:

I deleted a few of the pictures because they didn't come out so well on my computer. The next post will have more pictures ;)  More OPI coming your way! Let me know how the pictures are loading!

How was your weekend?

OPI Suedes

I don't know when the next time I'll be able to post will be, since my grandparents are coming tomorrow and my aunt is getting married on Saturday. Also I have to experiment with different photo sizes/formats to figure out the slow-loading problem but in the meantime, please bear with me.

I had these uploaded beforehand in case something like this were to happen. So they're still super huge and might load slowly :/  The weather has also been terrible while I'm awake. I've been sleeping really late (delayed sleep phase syndrome?) and waking up in the afternoon. It's like the sun doesn't want to see me anymore ):

On the day my friends bought me my birthday present, we went to a salon to have a look at the colors. They asked me to choose one, but.. How can I choose just one (greedy me)? There were SO MANY colors there. So I asked them to choose one and I'll either approve or reject it. After a long (VERY long) process, I narrowed it down to a few. By 'a few' I mean a few palettes.

It came down to a bunch of OPI Suedes, because we decided not to get something from the normal/core range. The manicurist lady was very nice and even let my friend try on some (I had some polish on already) of the colors.

After we finally chose a color (Russian Navy Suede), we left. I had a strange suspicion that she gave us a Matte instead of Suede, but I ignored it. After all, it's her profession, she must know what she's doing. Right?

Wrong.

I somehow (will not reveal the nature of this discovery) found out that it was indeed a Matte, not a Suede. So I went back and told them what happened and they very kindly exchanged it for me. Only, they didn't have Russian Navy in suede anymore and I didn't want to wait two weeks for the stock to come in. So I chose a different colour. Of course, I had to try the colors again.

These were the only 3 suedes they had left. They were very nice to touch (sounds wrong). My mom said they looked weird. But they look awesome to me. Not like this, of course. The lady at the salon painted it on for me. They chip really quickly and probably would not look good past 2-3 days of wear unless you're really, really careful.

Left to right: Here Today Aragon Tomorrow Suede, Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees Suede, You Don't Know Jacques Suede.
(taken in the shade)

In the sun.

I wanted to experiment a little with them before they chipped off too much, so I added one layer of top coat to each.

You Don't Know Jacques Suede with top coat.

Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees Suede with top coat.
You can see the tip wear here already, right? The polish wasn't very even when she painted it on anyway. Doesn't this look like one of metal pipes you find in a hardware store?
I've had Suzi Skis on before, non-suede version. And it looks nothing like this. I don't think the base color (without all that silver) is even the same.

Here Today Aragon Tomorrow Suede with top coat.
This one takes the cake. Quite Christmassy, this one sparkles well. It's beautiful in its suede form or glossy.

If I'm not mistaken, the suedes look nothing like their originals. That's what I have read, and if Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees is any indication, it's probably true. Nonetheless, these are so beautiful and I'm extremely glad that my friends got me one ;)  Thanks guys <3

I was actually really shocked at the readiness of the lady to exchange the polish for me. It's probably because of the country I live in where customer rights aren't practised often. So I was surprised that she was very kind and apologetic about the whole thing.

I have to drive to the city tomorrow to pick my grandparents up from the train station. Sigh. I hope it doesn't rain around that time. Guess which colour I ended up taking?

Btw today is Xabi Alonso's birthday! (:

Happy Birthday Xabi!

OPI Black Cherry Chutney

Last night before I went to bed, I decided to get a snack because I was hungry and ended up watching some tv. Powerpuff Girls was on! My favourite superheroines and favourite tv show back when I was a kid. I used to beat up whoever said that PPG sucked. I had PPG shorts, t-shirt, pencil case, and my uncle bought me a PPG Monopoly set for my birthday!

My favourite was Blossom. Maybe I secretly liked red back then too? I liked Bubbles second and Buttercup last. I think it was her tomboy-ish ways and her rough voice. But last night, Buttercup sounded a lot like Tommy from Rugrats to me. Hmm.

I also watched "I Am Sam", the movie. Dakota Fanning was so talented even back then (still is)! She was so tiny and already playing an adult-sized role. I'm hoping she doesn't turn out to be anything like Taylor Momsen. It's looking good for now!

Because my Tease-y Does It mani isn't ready and the sun isn't out, I decided to show you this instead. I had this on my toes (hence the weird pictures) for prom.

It's hard to describe the colour to you because my feet are a long way from my eyes. It's almost black, but when you look closer, it's more of a really really dark red with red shimmer. It's one of those 'lit from within' colours I've seen around. Absolutely beautiful.

It's not as purple-y/plum-y as it looks in the photo. It's more red.

It is kind of vampy, actually. If you're looking for something subtle, I guess this is it. The shimmer only comes out depending on the lighting, but even then, it's not that obvious. Or maybe it's on my feet so I can't see it properly. Either way, this is a very pretty colour. Worth buying, maybe ;)

I hope your weather is better than mine. The sky's still a bit bright, but there are clouds and wind and it's threatening to rain. I hate it when the weather can't decide what it wants to be. :/

OPI Show It & Glow It

How do you "glow" something? Glow isn't a verb, is it? :/

Anyway I chose this for prom, since my dress was purple. And my dress appears to have disappeared as well, no longer where I left it hanging. Hmm. Weird. I'll have to go find out where it is later.

There's nothing bad I can say about this one. It brings back old memories of the time I had Mad As A Hatter on *sniff*. Show It & Glow It won a battle against Sparkle-icious (both from the Burlesque collection), and I don't regret it one bit. It's purple bordering on pink, so if you like purple and/or pink, you should definitely get this. Unless you don't like glitter.

As far as I know, OPI makes glitters amazingly well. It always looks like you dipped your nail in some of that craft glitter. The whatever-they-put-into-the-bottle-to-turn-glitter-into-nail-polish stuff doesn't dull the glitter at all, unlike what you might get from a cheap brand. Also, it doesn't chip THAT easily. At least not in my experience. They last about 4 days without chipping. After that you might experience some little or big chips, depending on your base/top coat and thickness of the glitter.

Here I have 2 coats on, done by the manicurist.

In the sun.
The dominant color is purple, which may appear pink in some lighting.

If you look closely (click to enlarge), you'll see that there's some green, blue, orange, gold and silver thrown in with all that purple. It's like when you're making cupcakes and you decide to throw in some chopped nuts (ew) or chocolate chips (yum). The purple stays the main color, but the silver does come in to crash the party every now and then.

It actually sparkles so much that you don't see much of the other colours, but they're there (:

The manicurist only did one layer of top coat, which didn't do anything for the grittiness of the glitter. So I tried adding two more layers of top coat and it made it a whole lot smoother. And it sparkles more! You can't tell from this photo, but the extra layers of topcoat (left) gives a neater shine. I don't know how to describe it, you have to try it yourself. But I definitely prefer the smoother one. Nicer to play with and look at as well.

What's a glitter polish post without blurred photos? Here you can see a bit of the orange, blue and green.

So. Much. Sparkle.

I love this (and all glitters). AND removal doesn't have to be a nightmare! Thanks to the genius who invented the foil method. I was going to do a post on that. What happened? :/

Going to take this off tomorrow, and maybe try on Tease-y Does It. Also, a package arrived for me today, and it was nail polish! Which I bought. But I'll let you guess which ones I got. Let's just say that it's the year of 2010, and this Christmas, we'll party in a loudly vigorous and cheerful manner in a galaxy far far away. There are 3 polish names you should be able to dig out of that. All different brands, but very popular polishes.

Can you guess what they are? Are you going to get Show It & Glow It or is this glitter bomb too much for you?

Burt's Bees - Rejuvenation Lip Balm

Okay, I know this is not polish related, but I didn't have anything else ready. Besides, everybody loves Burt's Bees, right?

I just had my college prom, which was alright except for the food. Don't hotels hire chefs who should be good at preparing food for 700 people? The 'Best Dressed' award-giving was disappointing, considering there were so many others who were much better suited to receive the award than the winners. But then again, a lot of people arrived late because of the jam (it was raining heavily).

To make this post slightly more polish-related, I went for a mani-pedi with my mom for prom, and currently have Show It & Glow It on my fingers and Black Cherry Chutney on my toes, both from OPI. I also bought Tease-y Does It, Simmer & Shimmer, and my mom bought The Show Must Go On! I had to choose between Sparkle-icious and Show It & Glow It, but I chose the latter because the other had a little too much gold for my liking. Actually my mom paid for all of them, but she bought them for me. I believe this was supposed to be my very belated birthday present.

Anyway, I wanted to show you the cuticle cream (also from Burt's Bees) in this post too but I realised I couldn't, not without pictures of its effect.

This lip balm applies nicely, not too hard and not too melty. I know Kiehl's lip balm (the one in the tube) tends to get liquidy when you put it on, but this one doesn't. Maybe because it's in stick form? It works well too, keeps your lips moisturized for hours. Even in air-conditioned places. I do have dry lips all the time, so lip balm is an essential for me.

The best part? It smells amazing. Like berries. It does have fruit oil from the acai berry. I don't know much about this berry, but I do know that it's full of goodness. Antioxidants and whatnot. And it makes this balm smell good! I think the smell has decreased in intensity over the weeks since I opened it. When I first used it, the smell was so strong, people around me could smell it. And I might have gotten a headache from smelling it. Now it's not as strong, but still as yummy.

Acai berries.

The packaging of the lip balm. Soothing, hydrating, reviving. Indeed.

If you don't like colored lip balms for whatever reason, this one's white. Just in case you decided to take my word for it and not see/smell the tester in the store.

I would really advise you to smell the tester before buying. Take my word on the fact that this works, and makes your lips yummy to yourself, and maybe others ;)  I personally don't like trying out things like lip balm and lipstick (not that I ever buy lipstick!) etc. at any shop for hygienic reasons, but smelling it is fine.

They do have other flavours, like mango, pomegranate and some that smell like ointment (supposedly extra strong moisturizing effect), depending on your preference for smell/function. Each flavour has a different function.

According to the packaging, it's 100% natural (and has the Natural Products Association certification), it's not tested on animals, contains 30% post industrial content. The last one is probably referring to the plastic packaging and is probably good for the environment. Or maybe they just needed a good way to fill up the space.

I have nothing bad to say about this except for the twisting mechanism which kinda stopped working and stopped bringing the balm back down after I've twisted it up, but I'll just not twist it so high up. It just has the most berry-like smell and makes me want to eat something.

I have so many new polishes, and not enough hands! I've never had this situation before. And it feels awesome :D  I type too much, don't I? I need to put a word limit on these posts :/

Revlon - Vixen

Yay a real post after so long! I just realised I have a whole bunch of stuff to show/tell you but I have so much time to do that, especially after my prom on Monday.

Today was so eventful. I had a haircut (love getting my hair cut) and since I'm trying to grow it out, my hairdresser layered it. Haven't had layered hair since Dec 31st of last year! It feels weird, but I'll get used to it. I just hope it's not high maintenance :/  I'm not a fan of blowing dry my hair after showering, because it's such a hassle and my hair is dry enough as it is.

There was something else but that's a long story and I won't make you read that before showing you pictures! I feel like I torture you by writing so many words all the time.

I think I have proved myself to be one of the clumsiest people ever. Remember how I spilled nail polish remover during my Halloween mani? Well, I spilled some of this Revlon Vixen. Thankfully, I had the desk protector and it didn't get on my table.

Clumsy me :/ (This was after I wiped most of it off with a tissue)

I wiped an 'A' shape onto the tissue! Or the Eiffel Tower.

Revlon Vixen is a vampy berry-ish color. I love vampy colors. LOVE. One of my favourite colors to wear besides white, silver, red, and some pastels. Vampy goes with almost everything. Casual, formal, work (if your workplace allows such colors).

I suppose tv shows have made vampy colors so much more popular, in a way. One show I can think of is Gossip Girl. I don't think Blair wears vampy colors often (not that I've noticed, anyway), but I know Jenny, Vanessa and probably Georgina do. Especially Jenny. My least favourite character on the show. >:(  I can't find any stills that show their polish, so unless you've watched this show, you'll have to take my word for it.

But anyway. I love vampy colors. Have I said that yet? I think I have. There's something so understated about them. I especially love the red ones. Dark red vampy colors.

Vixen changes colors often, depending on the lighting, but I love each and every one of its colors. It was streaky and even at three coats, if the light's really bright and you're looking closely, you can still see the streaks. But since the color was pretty dark most of the time and I wasn't putting it up too close and my top coat was creating one big shiny streak-shield, I barely saw the streaks. It looked pretty solid.

This dries pretty fast, so three coats.. not so painstaking (:

There was one minor hiccup: this weird texture appeared on some of my nails. I've never had this happen with any other polish before and I didn't do anything that would've caused that kind of texture to appear.

Before top coat. There were those weird texture marks, plus sheet marks from my sleeping. I seriously need to get a fast dry top coat.

After top coat! It's so amazing. And the sun came out! I actually did two coats of top coat because I wasn't happy with the first one.

In the shade.

Then something else happened: See my ring finger?

Bubbles! Crazy bubbling. Must've been the top coat. Or the Revlon. And it chipped too, on my middle finger. That whitish bit there at the tip of my nail is a small chip. I fixed it and a couple of minor chips/tip wear over the first few days.

I loved this so much, I wore it from Thursday all the way 'til the next Wednesday! Also because my last exam papers were on Wednesday and I didn't have time to paint at all before that because I was studying. Chemistry was a disaster btw.

If I'm not mistaken, Barcelona and Real Madrid both won 5-1 in their Copa del Rey (King's Cup) games respectively! So happy for both of them (:  Both have been doing very well in the Primera Liga and Madrid is one point ahead of Barca. I'm hoping they will draw in both El Clasico matches. The first will be on 29th Nov (or 30th, depending on where you are) at 21:00 PST. I think I got that right.

I've put jumps on the previous picture heavy posts. I'll continue testing out the page until it loads at a satisfactory speed for me. Do let me know if there are any problems you experience.

For those whose eyes are tired already and minds bored, thanks for getting this far. (:

For those who have nothing better to do, click 'Read more' to find out what happened today. You won't be disappointed ;)

I'm Back!

After a break from blogging (scheduled posts not counted!), my exams are finally over, and I'm allowed to blog again! I'm absolutely exhausted from my waking up at 5.30a.m. in the morning to make it for my 7a.m. exams. As of right now, I have been awake for 19 hours. Doesn't sound like a lot, but you try it after getting 4 hours of sleep!

Today was awesome. After our last paper, a couple of friends and I went to get something to eat and walk around. They even gave me my (very late, but I don't mind ;) ) birthday present! A bottle of OPI! We spent SO LONG in the shop trying to decide which colour to get. I didn't help :D  I am so freakin' touched that they would get me something like that. *sniff*

I had a dream a couple of nights ago that I was at a concert, which I think was a Cobra Starship concert. I was in the area that was closest to the stage, and there was no-one else in the area but me, my brother, and I think his friend was there. Somehow, the band was suddenly in the area that I was in, instead of being on stage, and we were watching someone else's concert. And I was hanging out with them! Now if I actually got to hang out with Cobra Starship, it would literally and not literally a dream come true. I'd love to hang out with a band I love, and the Cobras are no exception. Especially Gabe. How much do I love Gabe? So much. Too much. (:

I have been coming online pretty much every day to check my e-mail, and some other stuff *cough*Facebook*cough*. I did come to Blogger every day and checked blog updates, read comments (I had to refrain from replying them, but I've done that now!) and make sure my scheduled posts did go up.

I know that the pictures are taking REALLY long to load. I'm thinking of adding jumps to the older posts which are more picture heavy so that they don't lag up the entire page. Or maybe you could just click on the link to the post itself, instead of the link to the entire blog until all the picture heavy posts are pushed to the next page? I should probably not picture-spam so much :S

Also, I did get to paint my nails :D  I don't have any pictures to show yet because I haven't been to watermark and upload pictures yet but I can do that anytime in the next two months! I was itching to click on the "Publish Post" button after so long, so I put together some stuff.

Tags

Ivana* tagged me! I love getting tagged. Unless it means that I become 'it'.

The first tag is "Me encanta tú Blog!" (Spanish! I love Spanish!) which, according to Google Translate, means "I love your blog!". Plus there's this cute picture of Spongebob in pink sea sponge! Which definitely makes sense, what would Spongebob be doing with pink feathers?

Then I get to answer some questions :D

1. Why did you create the blog?
When I see something I like that someone else has, sometimes, I really want it. I saw everyone else having awesome blogs and loads of nail polish I could only dream of owning, and thought, why don't I do it too? I know how to blog, I like taking pictures of stuff, I love nail polish, so, why not?

2. What kind of blogs do you follow?
At the moment, using Google Friend Connect, only nail blogs.

3. Do you have a favourite make-up brand?
I don't wear make-up. But I kinda like MAC and Chanel and those kinda stuff. They always look so pretty (:

4. And a favourite clothing brand?
ZARA!! They're the only people that make jeans long enough for me. And they always have the best clothes. I also like Dorothy Perkins.

5. What make-up products is essential for you?
Nail polish? Haha. Is lip balm counted? I guess if not, then lip gloss.

6. What’s your favourite colour?
Red!! Nothing beats red sometimes.

7. What’s your favourite perfume?
I don't wear perfume often because nobody smells me.. I hope. But it would be between Clinique Happy Hearts and DKNY Be Delicious (the red and green ones)

8. What’s the film you liked the most?
Oh... I would say Inception! Although I've only seen it once, but I love the concept of the movie. I like Wanted too. It could be because I love both movies' soundtracks.

9. What countries would you like to go to?
Anywhere and everywhere. But lately I've been thinking more Western, more USA/Canada/Europe. Especially places like Spain, UK and Germany. Damn, I would love to live in Spain.

9? What an odd number of questions to ask. The next award is the Versatile Blogger Award:

Now I get to torture you further with 12 things about me:
  1. I love food. Even when I'm not hungry, I still want to eat. I love chocolate and Nutella and ice cream and frozen yogurt.
  2. I hate garlic. Except on garlic bread and some other ways of cooking that involve garlic.
  3. I have never seen/experienced snow in my life. Movies not counted.
  4. I want to get married and I want my first child to be a girl.
  5. I want to be the editor of a magazine, like in Ugly Betty or in The Devil Wears Prada.
  6. I hate Chemistry, yet I've signed up for so many Pharmacy courses in many different universities. I'd be happy if I never have to see another Chemistry paper/book ever again.
  7. I miss my dog.
  8. I love watching tv. My favourite tv shows are How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, and I think a couple of others I can't remember.
  9. When I was young, my mom would paint my nails for me. Now, she asks me to paint her nails.
  10. After the World Cup 2010, I started watching football again (used to watch it as a kid, but then I stopped). I now support Barcelona/Real Madrid and do not want Liverpool to be relegated. Man U has always been one of my favourites. Messi is my favourite footballer (though Xabi Alonso is catching up really quickly!).
  11. I listen to a weird combination of different music, including soundtracks from movies.
  12. I really really really want an iPhone!

The last one is a Blog-Author-Get-To-Know-You questionnaire.

1. Innie or Outie?
Innie. We are talking about belly buttons, right?

2. Unlimited wealth? Or Unlimited health?
If unlimited wealth means that I will be extremely unhealthy, then I'd choose health. Or maybe still wealth. I could give bazillions of money to some charities/orphanages/old folks' homes and give money to my kids/family and die knowing I did good (:  I'd probably also spend a big bunch of that money on nail polish. ;)

3. What is your favorite book?
I don't have one :/  If you'd asked me last year, I would probably have said Twilight. But its effect wore off. Haha. I'm such a dork.

4. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?
NOT here. I love my house and all, but there's nothing here for me. I like New York. Or at least how it's depicted in How I Met Your Mother. There's always Cheetos and Snapple in the U.S.

5. What is your security blanket?
Not being naked.

6. What is your mode of transportation?
This is so random! I drive often, my parents drive too.

7. What is your signature scent?
Signature? I use DKNY - Be Delicious often.

8. If you were at Hogwarts, what house would you belong to?
Something dorky like Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Haha. Nah, I wanna be in Gryffindor and fight Voldemort with Harry. Yeah, I said his name.

9. If you could be any Disney princess who would you be and why?
Mulan! Mulan is awesome. She defeats the ugly long haired guy and meets a hot guy. Of course Shang/Sheng isn't my kinda guy but he and Mulan make it work! Mulan's such a trooper (:

10. What is one of your bad habits?
Being lazy, not exercising, not cleaning my room, not keeping things clean once they are clean.

Thank you Ivana for these awards/tags! Me encanta tu blog también! (I hope that says what I want it to say)

Wait. I have to tag people? I tag you, who is reading this. I tag every one of my followers. You know who you are! (:

I hope you're all tired out from reading this 'cause I'm all tired out from typing it! I'll have a real post up soon. Sorry for any mistakes etc. in this post, I can't proofread it because it's so long and it's late at night here (or really early in the morning). Congratulations if you made it this far. (:

China Glaze Betrays Me.

I should tell you first, I LOVE white nail polish. It speaks volumes that other colors of nail polish cannot express. It's clean, it's beautiful, it's classy (much like our my Xabi Alonso, no? ;) )

Does he look good in a suit, or what?

Anyway. I've only had one bottle of white nail polish before, Sally Hansen something something (you know she has a billion ranges) and it was alright. I think. That was all before I knew anything to do with nail polish. Actually I think it was streaky. But back then I never did more than 2 coats. Never. I don't know why. I didn't care about opacity, maybe.

That was, until I bought China Glaze White on White. With high hopes that were not let down by previous bottles of China Glaze (Light As Air, Four Leaf Clover, Secret Peri-wink-le, etc.), I used this for the first time for my Halloween mani.

When I first looked at the bottle, I noticed a bit of separation. I thought, maybe this bottle has been sitting around for too long. Let me shake it up. So I did. I shook. And thought it was well mixed. And so layer number one went on. Immediately I was like WTF? But continued. Before the second layer, I shook again. And, well, the process continued.......

Sorry for posting the same picture again, this is the only picture of White on White I have.
Btw the grey is China Glaze Recycle.

... until I had reached 5 coats.

5 coats for a China Glaze, can you imagine? I understand that this is a white, and whites are generally difficult when it comes to opacity. At 4 coats I could still see a bit of streakiness, which tends to annoy me when I'm bored and looking at my nails.

After Light As Air, my expectations of ChG's quality have risen significantly. I thought this would be a 2-3 coater (it was, but only after applying a few times), but no. Streaky, runny, chalky, milky, thin... It was like I was painting my nails with milk! Which sounds cool but no, it's horrible.

Unlike White on White, Happy Go Lucky and Lemon Fizz seemed particularly thick for me when I tried it. And whoever runs ChG's Twitter said to me when I mentioned this to her: "The formula for cremes tends to be a little thicker...we want them to have enough coverage or else they would be called "sheers"!".

Um. Hello? Is this not a white creme? Hmm? Maybe I got a really old, bad bottle. I don't know. Where's the consistency, China Glaze? Where is the beautiful, smooth, amazing formula I found in Light As Air? WHERE?

This is one of my Halloween horrors. Bad polish from a good brand. Maybe, maybe over time it will get better. I've never known a polish to get better over time, but maybe China Glaze can surprise me. AGAIN.

I will definitely be trying this again (maybe I already have, by the time you read this) and hopefully China Glaze will send a pleasant surprise my way.

October Nails & OPI

I decided to pimp out my October nails with some of my favourite OPIs! Okay, who doesn't love OPI? What planet are you from? OPI is so full of awesome. Anyway these two OPIs that I used on top of my October nails are OPI DS Chiffon (left hand) and OPI Are You A Movie Star? (right hand). I believe both of these are discontinued, unfortunately.

Are You A Movie Star is probably one of the best OPIs ever made. Probably on par with Mad As A Hatter (Sorry, MAAH, I still love you). I've not been stalking OPIs collections and polishes for the longest time but still, how often does OPI come up with something as awesome as this? Holo regular glitter, holo string glitter and holo hex glitter all in one? Maybe I sleepwalked to the OPI headquarters and barfed the contents of my dreams out because holy crap, this is amazing!

And the best part is, I didn't even pick this out! My mom picked it out for herself, and (ssh, I borrowed it) she usually picks boring red/copper/nude shades.

DS Chiffon, one of the early polishes from the Designer Series range, is actually a pink holo, but the holo didn't show up on the bottle here. I actually helped my mom choose this one. And this was a long time ago. Now pinks don't look that good on me, and I would probably have chosen a darker color. The label for this bottle actually fell off (or was it there in the first place?) so I can't be 100% sure that it's DS Chiffon, but I think I'm 80% sure.
