OPI Show It & Glow It

How do you "glow" something? Glow isn't a verb, is it? :/

Anyway I chose this for prom, since my dress was purple. And my dress appears to have disappeared as well, no longer where I left it hanging. Hmm. Weird. I'll have to go find out where it is later.

There's nothing bad I can say about this one. It brings back old memories of the time I had Mad As A Hatter on *sniff*. Show It & Glow It won a battle against Sparkle-icious (both from the Burlesque collection), and I don't regret it one bit. It's purple bordering on pink, so if you like purple and/or pink, you should definitely get this. Unless you don't like glitter.

As far as I know, OPI makes glitters amazingly well. It always looks like you dipped your nail in some of that craft glitter. The whatever-they-put-into-the-bottle-to-turn-glitter-into-nail-polish stuff doesn't dull the glitter at all, unlike what you might get from a cheap brand. Also, it doesn't chip THAT easily. At least not in my experience. They last about 4 days without chipping. After that you might experience some little or big chips, depending on your base/top coat and thickness of the glitter.

Here I have 2 coats on, done by the manicurist.

In the sun.
The dominant color is purple, which may appear pink in some lighting.

If you look closely (click to enlarge), you'll see that there's some green, blue, orange, gold and silver thrown in with all that purple. It's like when you're making cupcakes and you decide to throw in some chopped nuts (ew) or chocolate chips (yum). The purple stays the main color, but the silver does come in to crash the party every now and then.

It actually sparkles so much that you don't see much of the other colours, but they're there (:

The manicurist only did one layer of top coat, which didn't do anything for the grittiness of the glitter. So I tried adding two more layers of top coat and it made it a whole lot smoother. And it sparkles more! You can't tell from this photo, but the extra layers of topcoat (left) gives a neater shine. I don't know how to describe it, you have to try it yourself. But I definitely prefer the smoother one. Nicer to play with and look at as well.

What's a glitter polish post without blurred photos? Here you can see a bit of the orange, blue and green.

So. Much. Sparkle.

I love this (and all glitters). AND removal doesn't have to be a nightmare! Thanks to the genius who invented the foil method. I was going to do a post on that. What happened? :/

Going to take this off tomorrow, and maybe try on Tease-y Does It. Also, a package arrived for me today, and it was nail polish! Which I bought. But I'll let you guess which ones I got. Let's just say that it's the year of 2010, and this Christmas, we'll party in a loudly vigorous and cheerful manner in a galaxy far far away. There are 3 polish names you should be able to dig out of that. All different brands, but very popular polishes.

Can you guess what they are? Are you going to get Show It & Glow It or is this glitter bomb too much for you?

  4. Tell us the 3rd. :D

Maybe it's because of big size of your pictures and they're also in .png format what makes them pretty big (about 3MB). :) It's good because we can see details but if you want big pictures you can use .jpg but if you resize them .png is better because picture stay clear. Well, I'm not sure, I'm just guessing. :D

  6. I'm not a fan of glitter, but this one is really pretty and it looks good on your nails =).(This is definitely a nice polish to wear on a prom =)

The only bad thing is that OPI polishes here where I live are way to expensive for my student budget.

  7. Silva: It's more glittery in person!

Ivana: Yeah, the photos are pretty big. I'll see what I can do about the whole photo thing. (: And you're supposed to guess the third one! It has something to do with the date ;)

Nikki: Thanks! I had to think about the title for a while ;)

colorfulbottle: Thank you (: OPI is really expensive here too, but I think this was part of my birthday present. Maybe. You can try ordering from online stores like transdesign. Some of them ship internationally (:
